Job summary

Eden Brown Synergy is seeking an Engineering Technician for a Further Education College in West Yorkshire. This is a full-time temporary role to start asap, with a rate of £18–£21 per hour. You will support lecturers and students across engineering disciplines within the college workshops.

You will prepare, maintain and organise equipment, assist practical sessions, and ensure health and safety compliance. Previous workshop experience and a Level 3 engineering qualification are desirable.

Qualifications

• Must have previous experience in an engineering workshop or technical environment.
• Good understanding of engineering tools, machinery, and safety practices.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in engineering.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Level 3+ engineering qualification desirable.
• Experience supporting education or training environments advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, maintain, and organise engineering workshops and equipment.
• Support practical teaching sessions with resources.
• Assist lecturers and students during workshop activities.
• Carry out maintenance and safety checks on equipment.
• Ensure workshop compliance with health and safety and procedures.
• Monitor stock levels and reorder materials.
• Maintain records of servicing and inventory.
• Promote safe working practices across workshops.
