Job summary

UHI Perth is seeking an Engineering Technician to provide practical and technical support within the engineering area, emphasising fabrication and welding. You will assist with a wide range of workshop equipment, CNC machinery and laser cutting, ensuring resources are prepared and maintained for teaching.

The role requires broad engineering experience, a relevant qualification or apprenticeship, with an HNC desirable. Sponsorship is not available; closing date is 11 November 2026.

Qualifications

• Experience across engineering, fabrication, welding, manufacturing, maintenance or related technical work.
• Completed a relevant engineering/fabrication/manufacturing qualification or apprenticeship or equivalent.
• HNC in engineering or appropriate qualification/experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain engineering workshops, machinery, specialist equipment, tools, materials and teaching resources.
• Support practical teaching and demonstrations and maintain stock/workshop resources.
• Undertake routine maintenance and fault finding; provide technical guidance on safe use of engineering equipment.
