Job summary

The MTC in Oxford is seeking an experienced engineering educator to deliver mechanical and practical subjects across level 2/3 and higher apprenticeships. You will design schemes of work, assessment materials, and integrate industry training with the apprenticeship framework.

They require recognised teaching and assessor qualifications or a clear plan to attain them, plus Level 4+ engineering education credentials.

Qualifications

• Qualified to teach with a recognised teaching qualification or willingness to gain one.
• Assessor qualification or willingness to gain one (e.g., A1 or Level 3 CVA) with Maths/English GCSEs.
• Quality assurance qualification such as V1 or Level 4 QA processes and practice.

Responsibilities

• Deliver mechanical knowledge and practical subjects to level 2-3 and HNC/L4.
• Develop resources, schemes of work and assessment materials.
• Coordinate industry training offers into apprenticeship schemes.
• Monitor learning environments and health, safety, safeguarding compliance.
• Create engaging teaching methods and integrate industry standards.
• Support apprentices to progress and achieve End Point Assessments.

Job description

• Effective delivery of mechanical knowledge and practical subjects at levels 2, 3, HTC/HNC - L4, developing independent learners
• Practical delivery of Hand Fitting, Assembly, Turning, Milling and CNC programming/operating
• Enable apprentice progression toward successful completion
• Manage physical learning resources and teaching spaces to ensure training and assessment are achieved within the guided learning hours
• Create learning content and develop resources, schemes-of-work and assessment materials
• Identify and coordinate integration of relevant industry partner training offers into the apprenticeship scheme of work
• Monitor the learning environment
• Ensure learner workplace health, safety and welfare by working with the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)
