Job summary

Technical Trainer role in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, for a temporary 9–12 month assignment. You will deliver and assess in-house engineering training up to Level 2, and verify Level 3 competencies for apprenticeship standards.

The role requires a Level 5 Teaching Qualification (or equivalent), TAQA, and assessor/verifier awards, with Enhanced DBS clearance. You will mentor apprentices, develop lesson plans, and maintain learner records in OneFile, ensuring content stays current and compliant

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification in machining, electrical or mechanical engineering.
• Qualified to Level 5 Teaching and TAQA.
• Assessor and verifier awards (D32/D33 or A1; D34 or V1).
• Enhanced DBS clearance (Adults/Children).

Responsibilities

• Deliver and assess in-house engineering courses up to Level 2.
• Assess and verify Level 3 competencies per apprenticeship standards.
• Coordinate and monitor apprenticeship components for timely completion.
• Mentor apprentices to develop knowledge, skills and behaviours.
• Develop and maintain training materials and lesson plans.
• Utilise OneFile for learner records and evidence.
• Review content and methods to meet business needs.
• Promote Zero Harm and compliance with guidelines.
