HGA Group in Inverness is seeking an ambitious engineering technician to join our civils team in a close-knit, independent consultancy based in Inverness.

You will support design from concept to completion, producing drawings and documents, liaising with authorities, clients and contractors, and ensuring compliance with Eurocodes and British Standards. A generous benefits package is tailored to your career progression in the Highlands.

Qualifications

• HNC in Civil Engineering is required.
• Experience in civil design including roads, drainage and earthworks.
• Experience in production and review of construction drawings.
• Knowledge of Eurocodes and British Standards.
• Proactive liaison with clients and project teams.

Indicative Salary: £35,000 - £40,000

Job Description

The successful candidate will join the civils team working under the supervision of Senior Technicians and the Company Directors in the technical design of projects from concept to completion.

• Undertaking civils design and production of design drawings and documents.
• Liaising with authorities regarding technical approvals of design.
• Liaising with clients, design teams and contractors as part of the delivery of projects.
• Ensuring compliance with the Company quality policy.

Requirements

The candidate should have the following:

• An HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience of civil design including roads, drainage and earthworks.
• Experience in the production and review of construction drawings.
• A confident and proactive approach to working with clients and project teams.
• Knowledge of Eurocodes and British Standards.
• Experience of working with drafting and analysis software such as AutoCAD, PDS and Flow.
• Drivers licence.
