Engineering Team Manager - Dordon, Tamworth

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Supervise shift team, prioritize workload, and deploy labor efficiently.
• Coordinate with inbound, outbound, and support teams to support operations.
• Assess team skills, upskill staff, and develop succession plans.
• Optimize shift coverage and control labor costs.
• Manage inventory and spares, ensure safety, and compliance.
• Report on automation and maintenance activities, and improve operational KPIs.
• Lead safety initiatives, hazard reporting, and ensure safe work practices.
• Support engineering maintenance and innovation ideas.
• Ensure high site standards and resolve facilities issues.

Communications:

• Conduct daily briefings and communicate effectively across teams.
• Report issues to senior management.

People:

• Develop and motivate team members, handle disciplinary issues, and participate in recruitment and training.
• Maintain good employee relations and build strong relationships with operational stakeholders.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

• Technical ability in automation hardware/software, with relevant qualifications.
• Management experience in an automated environment.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Experience with production and storage systems, FMCG environment, and CMMS.
• Flexible working pattern, PC literacy, and knowledge of control systems (desirable).
