Job Role & Key Responsibilities:
An exciting opportunity for an experienced Engineering Team Leader to lead a shift engineering team within a busy manufacturing environment. You'll play a key role in maintaining high engineering standards, improving reliability and supporting continuous improvement across the site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, coordinate and support shift engineers.
- Manage planned and reactive maintenance activities.
- Prioritise breakdowns and engineering workloads.
- Drive engineering standards, equipment reliability and uptime.
- Monitor downtime and recurring faults, identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Support continuous improvement, shutdown and engineering projects.
- Work closely with production teams to minimise disruption and maximise efficiency.
- Support and develop engineers and apprentices.
- Coordinate and monitor contractor activities.
- Promote a strong Health & Safety culture.
The Ideal Candidate will have:
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience within an engineering environment.
- A multi-skilled engineering background with a strong electrical bias.
- Experience within FMCG, food or another manufacturing environment.
- Strong fault-finding experience on production machinery.
- Good knowledge of planned and reactive maintenance.
- Experience working with CMMS systems.
- Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- A proactive approach to maintenance, reliability and continuous improvement.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience leading an engineering team within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Experience supporting apprentices or developing engineering personnel.
- Knowledge of automation and modern manufacturing equipment.
- Experience managing contractors and supporting site projects or shutdowns.
