Job summary

Ruth Wagstaff Recruitment Ltd is actively recruiting an Engineering Team Leader for a leading manufacturing business in Bristol. The role involves leading a team on shift to ensure equipment reliability and drive continuous improvement.

You’ll oversee maintenance planning, respond to breakdowns promptly, and work with the Maintenance & Engineering Manager to boost site performance. The position suits an experienced leader or a senior engineer stepping into management.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Engineering qualification (Level 2 or above).
• Previous experience leading, mentoring or supervising engineers.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Positive, proactive approach with a continuous improvement mindset.
• FMCG or fast-paced manufacturing experience highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of up to 5 engineers
• Coordinate and oversee planned preventative maintenance activities
• Support rapid response to breakdowns and minimise production downtime
• Drive continuous improvement and root cause analysis activities
• Ensure engineering standards, safety and compliance are maintained
• Work closely with the Maintenance & Engineering Manager to improve site performance
