Job summary

Beta in Belfast is seeking a dedicated Grid Control Officer to monitor the gas network and respond to alarms from our 24/7 control room. This is an office-based role, with no remote or hybrid options, and offers permanent and fixed-term contract opportunities.

You will join a friendly team delivering reliable gas services, with a 3 x 12-hour day shift pattern followed by 4 days off, then 3 x 12-hour night shifts followed by 5 days off.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year in an engineering or numerical environment or strong administrative/customer background.
• GCSEs including English and Maths at grade C or above.

• Facilitate appropriate response to alarms.
• Emergency response support.
• Liaise with team to ensure 24/7 control room operation.
• Design and costing of new gas network extension works (incl. New Build).

Key Responsibilities

• Liaise with members of the team to ensure the seamless and efficient operation of the control row (24/7).
• Design and costing of new gas network extension works (incl. New Build).

Essential Experience

• Candidates with at least one years relevant work experience in an engineering or numerical environment or strong administrative/customer-orientated background will be considered.
• Minimum of 5 GCSE passes (or equivalent) to include English & Maths at Grade C or above

Working Hours

• Required to participate in a rota system to provide 24-7 cover i.e. 3 x 12-hour day shifts (7am - 7pm) followed by 4 days off then 3 x 12 hour night shifts (7pm - 7am) followed by 5 days off
