Job summary

Brook Street in Leeds seeks an Engineering Supervisor to lead on-site engineering, protect equipment reliability and drive a quality-driven culture.

You will oversee maintenance activities, plan preventative work and manage contractors while ensuring safety, ISO 9001 compliance and cost control. You’ll also support recruitment, training and energy-efficiency initiatives.

Qualifications

• Must hold Level 4 HNC in Mechanical Engineering with electrical bias.
• Experience with industrial boiler systems (BOAS advantage) is preferred.
• Strong supervisory experience in engineering/maintenance leadership.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance of machinery, equipment and site services to minimise disruption.
• Plan and manage preventative maintenance, respond to breakdowns quickly.
• Ensure equipment meets safety, legal and insurance requirements.
• Maintain engineering processes in line with ISO 9001 standards.
• Identify improvements to equipment, systems and site performance.
• Track maintenance activity and costs to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
• Support and train production staff on safe machinery use.
• Work with senior management on project work and capital investment.
• Manage contractors, ensuring quality work and controlled costs.
• Monitor and reduce energy usage across the site.
• Support recruitment, training and development of engineering staff.
• Maintain high Health & Safety and environmental compliance.

Our Client is a leading chemical manufacturing organisation and is hiring an Engineering Supervisor to strengthen the engineering function on site-supporting production, protecting equipment reliability, and driving a quality-driven culture.

What you'll be doing:

• Oversee maintenance of machinery, equipment and site services to minimise disruption
• Plan and manage preventative maintenance, responding quickly to breakdowns
• Ensure equipment meets safety, legal and insurance requirements
• Maintain engineering processes in line with ISO 9001 quality standards
• Identify improvements to equipment, systems and overall site performance
• Track maintenance activity and costs to improve efficiency and reduce downtime
• Support and train production staff on safe and effective machinery use
• Work with senior management on project work and capital investment
• Manage contractors, ensuring quality work and controlled costs
• Monitor and reduce energy usage across the site
• Support recruitment, training and development of engineering staff
• Maintain high standards of Health & Safety and environmental compliance at all times

What you'll bring:

• Level 4 HNC (or similar) in Mechanical Engineering, with some Electrical bias
• Proven experience in industrial boiler systems (BOAS advantage)
• Supervisory experience within engineering/maintenance leadership
• Strong plant maintenance understanding in a manufacturing environment
• Confidence managing multiple priorities and working closely with senior management
• Solid problem-solving, organisational and communication skills

Additional information:

• Full-time, permanent position | Monday to Friday, 7:00am-3:00pm
• Salary: £52,000-£55,000 per annum (DOE)
