Job summary

Dunbia Group in Bedford is seeking an Engineering Stores/Tool Setter to join our production team in a meat processing environment.

You will manage engineering stores, stock, and tool/die readiness while supporting planned maintenance and the setup of mincing/grinding machinery. The role offers training and progression opportunities with full-time hours, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Experience working in engineering, maintenance, manufacturing or technical stores environment.
• Ability to use computerised stock or maintenance systems accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and disciplined record keeping.
• Good verbal and written English.
• Knowledge of engineering components, fabrication materials, tools and consumables.
• Experience supporting planned preventive maintenance and contractor activities.
• Food manufacturing or similarly regulated environment experience is desirable, training provided.

Responsibilities

• Manage engineering stores, ensuring tools and consumables are available and recorded accurately.
• Support maintenance through stock management, ordering, issue control and administration.
• Assist with setup, dismantling, and tool/die installation for mincing and grinding machines.

We are actively seeking applications for the role of Engineering Stores/ Tool Setter to join an industry leader that provides opportunities for training and progression to the right candidates. You will be working in a production environment within a meat processing plant in one of Europe's leading food companies; suppliers of choice to a range of leading local, national and international supermarket, foodservice and manufacturing businesses exporting to over 50 countries worldwide.

Responsibilities

Working as part of our Engineering and Maintenance Team you will manage the engineering stores and ensure that engineering parts, tools and consumables are available, controlled and accurately recorded. The role supports the maintenance function through effective stock management, ordering, issue control and administration, helping engineers complete planned and reactive maintenance efficiently. The role also provides hands-on support with the safe set-up and dismantling of industrial mincing and grinding machines for cleaning, including the installation, adjustment and replacement of mincing and grinding tools and dies.

• Experience of working in an engineering, maintenance, manufacturing or technical stores environment.
• Ability to use computerised stock or maintenance systems accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and a disciplined approach to record keeping.
• Ability to communicate effectively with engineers, managers, suppliers and contractors.
• Ability to plan and prioritise work, respond to urgent operational requirements and work on own initiative.
• Good verbal and written English.
• Knowledge of engineering components, fabrication materials, tools and consumables.
• Experience supporting planned preventive maintenance and contractor activities.
• Previous experience in a food manufacturing or similarly regulated environment is desirable, but not essential as full training will be provided.
