Job summary

Breedon Group is recruiting an Engineering Stores and Purchasing Manager for our Hope Cement Works in Derbyshire. You will lead the engineering stores and purchasing function to ensure efficient procurement, control and availability of engineering materials and services to support safe, reliable plant operations.

You will collaborate with maintenance, production and procurement teams to drive reliability, cost control and continuous improvement across the site.

Qualifications

• Experience in engineering stores, MRO materials management, purchasing or supply chain in manufacturing or heavy industry.
• Strong inventory management and stores best practices knowledge.
• Understanding of purchasing processes, supplier management and governance.
• Ability to analyse data, manage budgets and drive cost improvements.
• Experience with ERP/CMMS systems, preferably Maximo, and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day engineering stores operations, ensuring accurate receipt, storage, issue and control of materials.
• Maintain stock accuracy via cycle counts and audits.
• Manage critical spares, obsolete stock and inventory levels.
• Lead purchasing for engineering parts, consumables and contracted services.
• Develop supplier relationships to improve value and delivery performance.
• Collaborate with maintenance and production to ensure material availability for planned work.
• Support shutdowns and capital projects through planning and coordination of materials.
• Monitor stock value and purchasing spend; identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Maintain records in Maximo and other systems; produce reports and KPIs.
• Promote safety and compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements.
