Engineering Stores Manager

Hours: 08:30 - 17:00
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 depending on experience

What we do.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an Engineering Purchasing Manager to join our Engineering team at Bakkavor Bourne. Our factory specialises in preparing fruit, leafy salads, and stir fry mixes. It employs over 1,200 people and is only 16 miles from Peterborough and 12 miles from Spalding.


About the role.

Our business uses highly automated assets and technology to produce a wide range of products for all the major retailers. In this role, you'll manage the site processes in relation to the control of engineering parts and components. You'll contribute to site audits, interact with site teams and also take the business operation into consideration (cost and service level agreements).

  • Be part of the engineering inventory strategy (lead CMMS process).
  • Lead and develop the digital management processes, reports of food and drink inventory management, internal performance reports, asset management risk plans.
  • Contribute to internal and external audits.
  • Get involved in technical performance reviews, liaise with external suppliers and collaborate with other functions and stakeholders.
  • Continuous improvement projects, responding to breakdowns of food/drink packaging assets. Manage/conduct inventory interrogation to support reactive requests and develop corrective actions.

About you.

Ideally, you'll have experience within an FMCG environment and knowledge of engineering maintenance strategies, utility systems and mechanical principles, safety and control circuits. We're also looking for:

  • Engineering qualification (Level 2 or above)
  • IOSH Managing Safely (desirable)
  • Application of Safety, Health and Environmental legislation and procedures.
  • IT, communication, teamwork, supervisory and management skills.
  • Experience in spare parts management, budgetary controls, decision making and negotiation.
  • Planning works and writing reports.
  • Knowledge of CMMS
  • Risk management.
