Job summary

Notting Hill Genesis seeks a Head of Engineering Services to lead our engineering function across M&E, heating, energy, water and fire safety. You will drive technical excellence, set standards, and oversee assurance, governance and asset information to deliver safe, compliant and high-quality homes.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team, use data to identify risks, and collaborate with regulators, contractors and leadership to improve value for money and asset performance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services or Fire Engineering with professional membership or chartered status.
• Significant senior engineering leadership experience setting standards and leading specialist teams.
• Strong knowledge of M&E, heating, heat networks or fire safety with housing legislation awareness.
• Understanding of governance, audit, asset data and the golden thread.
• Full clean UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain engineering policies, standards and assurance across M&E, heating, energy, water and fire safety.
• Establish an independent, auditable engineering assurance system with clear separation between service delivery, contract ownership and technical assurance.
• Provide technical authority and constructive challenge to improve contractor performance and quality.
• Lead, develop and build the capability of a multidisciplinary engineering team with professional standards.
• Use inspections, certification, assurance data and performance insight to identify systemic risks and inform investment decisions.
• Oversee cost assurance and capital-work handovers, engaging with regulators, contractors and senior leaders to improve value.
• Identify and escalate systemic risks and support early intervention to improve asset performance.
• Collaborate with senior leaders and external partners so engineering insight informs organisational strategy at handover.
