Job summary

Next Generation in Bromsgrove is seeking a Sales Office Manager to lead a small internal sales function and act as the main contact for customers. The role combines engineering product knowledge, sales support, and leadership to deliver accurate quotations, orders and high-quality service.

You will supervise junior staff, work with external sales colleagues, and ensure priorities are managed in a busy office environment.

Qualifications

• Experience within internal sales, technical sales, sales support or customer service.
• Ideally a background within engineering or manufacturing.
• Strong customer liaison and communication skills.
• Experience supervising, mentoring or managing junior staff.
• Good computer skills, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong organisation and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Acting as the main point of contact for customer enquiries via telephone and email.
• Preparing quotations and processing customer orders.
• Handling technical customer enquiries relating to engineering products.
• Providing a high level of customer service and technical support.
• Overseeing and supporting junior members of the internal sales team.
• Working closely with external sales colleagues and other departments.
• Managing multiple enquiries and priorities within a busy office environment.
• Taking responsibility for office supplies, stationery, petty cash and general administration.
• Ensuring customer enquiries and orders are dealt with accurately and within agreed timescales.
• Helping develop and maintain an efficient and professional sales office function.
