Job summary

Samworth Brothers in Worksop is seeking an Engineering Project Manager to deliver capital projects that improve site performance and reliability. You will translate business needs into well-scoped projects and work with Engineering, Operations and external partners to ensure safe, compliant installations delivered on time and within budget.

You will drive continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma and TPM, manage budgets, and present compelling investment proposals to senior leadership.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in an engineering discipline.
  • You will have experience delivering engineering or capital projects within manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of machinery, processes, safety standards and compliance requirements.
  • Highly organised with ability to manage multiple projects and keep records.
  • Experience engaging with stakeholders, contractors and suppliers.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of capital projects from feasibility through commissioning and handover.
  • Manage capital investment programmes and engineering improvement initiatives.
  • Develop project scopes, budgets, investment proposals and business cases.
  • Ensure projects achieve ROI and measurable business benefits.
  • Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders and external contractors/suppliers.
  • Embed governance, risk management and reporting processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, TPM and root-cause analysis.
  • Ensure projects comply with health & safety, food safety, environmental and quality standards.
  • Present project progress and proposals to senior leadership teams.

About The Role

As an Engineering Project Manager, you will deliver capital projects that improve site performance, capacity and reliability. You turn business needs into well‑scoped projects. You will work with Engineering, Operations, Technical and external partners to make sure installations are safe, compliant and delivered on time and within budget. You are a key part of continuous improvement and future‑proofing the site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery of capital projects from feasibility and business case development through to commissioning and handover.
  • Manage capital investment programmes and engineering improvement initiatives across the site.
  • Develop project scopes, budgets, investment proposals, and business cases.
  • Ensure projects achieve targeted ROI and measurable business benefits.
  • Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders and manage external contractors and suppliers.
  • Embed robust project governance, risk management, and reporting processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, and root cause methodologies.
  • Ensure all projects comply with health & safety, food safety, environmental, quality, and engineering standards.
  • Present project progress, investment proposals, and business cases to senior leadership teams.
