Job summary

First Recruitment Group seeks an Engineering Project Manager to lead capital expenditure projects from concept through handover. You will drive progress, manage budgets, and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams to deliver safe, compliant engineering solutions.

The role emphasizes IT/OT integration, safety compliance, and stakeholder collaboration across brownfield and greenfield infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Extensive project management experience delivering engineering capital projects.
• Strong understanding of electrical infrastructure, switchgear, motor control, and inverter systems.
• Knowledge of Operational Technology (OT) and industrial networking environments.
• Experience with PLC, SCADA, and HMI platforms.
• Experience delivering brownfield and greenfield infrastructure and network upgrade projects.
• Practical awareness of ISA-95 and ISA-88 standards.
• Experience delivering IT/OT integration projects, including OT cybersecurity risk management.
• Knowledge of process and packaging equipment integration.

• Lead design reviews and ensure technical integrity of engineering solutions.
• Support infrastructure, automation, networking, control systems, and integration projects.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver cost, sustainability, and process improvements.
• Manage supplier and contractor performance, including cost, quality, safety, and delivery.
• Develop project budgets, cashflow forecasts, and support commercial decision-making.
• Maintain strong relationships with operational, technical, and leadership stakeholders.

Lead Complex Engineering Projects from Concept to Completion

Our Client has a requirement for an Engineering Project Manager, who will be required to work on a Contract basis.

Role Purpose:

• Lead Capital Expenditure projects from concept through to handover.
• Drive project progress and take ownership of successful project outcomes.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritising activities based on risk.
• Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and risk mitigation plans.
• Ensure safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of engineering projects.

Job Role Responsibilities:

Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:

• Broad engineering understanding across civil, mechanical, electrical, process, and control systems disciplines.

• Strong stakeholder management, leadership, and communication skills.
• Experience managing suppliers, contractors, commercial risk, and project budgets.
• Knowledge of relevant safety legislation, including CDM, machine safety, and process safety requirements.
