Job summary

JDR Recruitment are recruiting for Production Operatives in Horwich, BL6. The role focuses on supporting the efficient manufacture and assembly of engineering products, including drilling, waxing/oiling, and general assembly.

Working hours are Monday to Thursday, 6:30am–4:30pm (38 hours per week) with a pay rate of £12.71 per hour. The position is temporary to permanent, with JDR acting as an employment business.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a manufacturing, production, or engineering environment preferred.
• Ability to use hand tools and basic workshop equipment.
• Good attention to detail and quality standards.
• Ability to follow instructions and work from production schedules.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and flexible approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Operate production equipment and hand tools in a safe and efficient manner.
• Carry out drilling and preparation of components to engineering specifications.
• Apply wax, oil, and other protective finishes to products as required.
• Perform general production assembly duties in line with work instructions and quality standards.
• Inspect components and finished products to ensure quality requirements are met.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
• Follow health and safety procedures at all times.
• Report defects, equipment issues, or production concerns to supervisors.
• Assist with packing, labelling, and movement of finished goods when required.
• Undertake other production and manufacturing duties as reasonably requested.
