Job summary

ASL is seeking a motivated Purchasing Buyer in the Aylesbury region. The role offers a salary of circa £33k-£38k+ with benefits including an annual company bonus and an excellent pension scheme.

Reporting into the Head of Procurement, you will manage purchase orders, handle buying activities, assist with invoices and GRPO, and prepare import/export documentation while liaising with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of hands-on buying experience.
• CIPS Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
• Experience with procurement in engineering/manufacturing/technical industries.
• Good systems experience with ERP/MRP/SAP.
• Knowledge of imports/exports, freight and customs clearance.
• Strong supplier relationship management and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Raise, manage and process purchase orders for goods and services.
• Buying, purchasing, pricing and checking availability.
• Invoice and GRPO support.
• Import/export documentation.
• Supplier communication regarding quotations, order progress, deliveries, pricing queries.
