Job summary

Pilgrim's Europe - Spalding is seeking an Engineering Planner to coordinate maintenance plans and statutory inspections across our site. You will manage the CMMS, schedule PPM activities and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

The role requires strong planning, IT and data management skills, plus experience in a manufacturing environment. You will work with cross-functional teams to improve equipment reliability and site performance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and coordinate maintenance plans and PPM scheduling.
  • Manage engineering systems and drive improvements for reliability.
  • Create and maintain weekly, fortnightly, weekend work plans.
  • Coordinate contractors, permits, RAMS, and compliance.
  • Track KPIs and analyse downtime for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain records, contractor databases and compliance documents.
  • Support training compliance across engineering teams.
  • Provide admin support including timekeeping and holiday management.
  • Support audit readiness, food safety and engineering compliance standards.

Are you an experienced engineering professional with a passion for planning, reliability, and continuous improvement? We're looking for an Engineering Planner to play a key role in coordinating engineering activities across our Spalding site, ensuring the efficient delivery of planned maintenance, statutory inspections, and engineering compliance activities.

What You'll Do

As Engineering Planner, you will be at the heart of our Engineering function, responsible for developing and coordinating maintenance plans, managing engineering systems, and driving improvements that maximise equipment reliability and site performance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and developing the site CMMS system as the engineering superuser
  • Planning and scheduling preventative maintenance (PPM) activities and statutory inspections
  • Creating weekly, fortnightly, and weekend engineering work plans
  • Coordinating engineering contractors, permits, RAMS, and compliance requirements
  • Tracking engineering KPIs and analysing downtime trends to support continuous improvement
  • Ensuring engineering records, contractor databases, and compliance documentation are maintained
  • Supporting training compliance across engineering teams
  • Providing administrative support to the Engineering department, including timekeeping and holiday management
  • Supporting audit readiness, food safety, and engineering compliance standards
What We're Looking For
Essential:
  • Time-served engineer with experience in maintenance planning and PPM scheduling
  • NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds Level 3, BTEC Level 3, ONC, or equivalent Engineering qualification
  • Strong organisational and planning skills
  • Excellent IT and data management skills
  • Knowledge of CMMS systems
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience within a manufacturing or FMCG environment
  • Continuous Improvement and reliability experience
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable:
  • HNC/HND in Electrical & Electronic Engineering
  • Experience using Holistech and SAP
  • Knowledge of SOX compliance
  • BRC audit compliance knowledge
  • HACCP understanding and Level 3 Food Safety qualification
  • IOSH, ROSPA, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing or Kaizen training
  • Food manufacturing industry experience
