Job summary

Greencore Crosby is seeking an experienced maintenance professional to lead planned maintenance and maximise equipment availability across the site. You will drive CMMS adoption, schedule and control maintenance activities, and collaborate with Operations, Technical and Supply Chain teams to meet service and stock targets.

The role requires a GCSE or equivalent, FMCG exposure, strong analytical thinking, attention to detail and a proactive, team-focused attitude.

Qualifications

• GCSE level or equivalent; experience in engineering environment preferred.
• Experience with FMCG and fast-paced seasonal settings is desirable.
• Awareness of engineering contractor deployment and management.

Responsibilities

• Control planned maintenance activities, ensuring standards, compliance and safety are met.
• Support CMMS adoption across the facility by guiding maintenance colleagues.
• Use CMMS to convert work requests into achievable plans, balancing needs.
• Manage planning risks and amend work orders to meet service and stock targets.
• Communicate maintenance plans with Operations, Technical and Supply Chain teams.
• Propose and implement improvement initiatives within the area of responsibility.
• Organise, plan, schedule and control all planned maintenance and engineering work.
• Develop maintenance schedules to maximise equipment availability and resources.
• Chair daily meetings and review departmental KPIs with Engineering Management.
• Maintain daily maintenance records and contractor oversight.
• Ensure safe site conditions and compliance during contractor activities.

What you’ll be doing

• Control planned departmental activities, ensuring maintenance standards, practices, statutory compliance, and Health & Safety requirements are met while maximising equipment availability.
• Support CMMS adoption across the facility by guiding and training maintenance team members.
• Use the CMMS to convert work requests and labour availability into achievable plans, balancing operational needs.
• Manage planning risks and amend work orders where practical to meet customer service and stock targets.
• Communicate maintenance plans and information effectively with Operations, Technical, and Supply Chain teams.
• Propose and implement improvement initiatives within the area of responsibility.
• Organise, plan, schedule, and control all planned maintenance and engineering activities.
• Develop and implement maintenance schedules to maximise equipment availability and effective use of engineering resources.
• Chair daily meetings and develop/review departmental KPIs with the Engineering Management team.
• Maintain daily maintenance records, including completed activities, components used, and follow-up requirements.
• Schedule and manage contractor activities, ensuring safe site conditions and compliance with safety protocols.
• Work at all times in accordance with company Health & Safety and Hygiene policies.
• And any ad-hoc duties

What we’re looking for

• Educated to GSCE level or equivalent experience working within an Engineering environment
• FMCG knowledge supported by experience of working in a fast-paced seasonal environment
• Awareness and experience of engineering and contractor deployment and management
• Attention to detail skill and ability to prioritise
• Can demonstrate analytical thinking coupled with a strong assertive character.
• Experience working with computers including experience of a CMMS system
• Energy and enthusiasm with a 'One Team' ethos
