Job summary

Greencore is seeking an Engineering Team Leader in Leeds to drive maintenance planning, optimise uptime and lead a skilled team across 4-on/4-off shifts. You will ensure safety, compliance and efficient reporting while fostering a high-performance culture within the engineering group.

Ideal candidates will have an accredited electrical apprenticeship (Level 3) and hands-on experience with manufacturing equipment, lean practices, and budget management.

Qualifications

• Completed accredited apprenticeship or equivalent with Level 3 electrical qualification.
• Experience with manufacturing machinery and processes.
• Leadership experience with diverse teams and budgeting.
• Lean environment experience; Yellow Belt Six Sigma advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prioritise shift workload to meet production targets.
• Execute preventative maintenance to maximise uptime.
• Ensure compliance with safety and GMP requirements.
• Oversee documentation and reporting to required formats and timescales.
• Ensure permits to work are in place for safety during contractor work.
• Lead a high-performing engineering team and develop talent.

We are looking for an Engineering Team Leader working 4 on 4 off days and nights

What You'll Be Doing

• Plan and prioritise the shift workload for the engineering team to enable production targets to be achieved by maximising machinery up time
• Execute the planned preventative maintenance schedule to maximise machinery up time and minimise disruption to production targets
• Ensure all plant and equipment adhere to all relevant legislation and so that a safe working environment is maintained all times
• Ensure the shift engineering team produces all documents and reports accurately and presents information in the required format to given time scales
• Ensure that the permit to work is in place and adhered to so that contractors and colleagues always work safely
• Lead the engineering team to create a high performing culture where team members are supported to achieve their potential
• Ensure the shift engineering team adhere to good manufacturing practices (Greencore Manufacturing Process) ensuring compliance with manufacturing unit food safety requirements

What We're Looking For:

• People who have experience operating as an engineer, following a completed accredited apprenticeship or equivalent experience with appropriate Level 3 qualification - electrically biased
• Demonstratable knowledge of manufacturing machinery and processes
• Has people management, leadership or supervisory experience and can lead a diverse workforce
• Has experience and skills managing costings and budgets
• Has experience working with computer programmes proficiently
• Experienced operating within a lean environment
