Job summary

Veolia is seeking an Engineering Planner in Edinburgh to manage maintenance activities and optimise asset performance. You will coordinate CMMS-driven tasks, balance resources, and ensure compliance with health and safety standards across the site.

The role requires IOSH Managing Safely knowledge, confined space qualification, and strong risk assessment capability. You will collaborate with operations to drive reliability and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Manage and prioritise planned, preventative, corrective and reactive maintenance through the CMMS.
• Coordinate work requests, schedules and resources to ensure efficient maintenance delivery.
• Maintain accurate records and data to support reporting and improvement.
• Ensure health, safety, statutory and regulatory requirements are met, including risk assessments and Permit to Work systems.
• Support maintenance and operations teams by managing contractors and providing technical feedback.

What you’ll be doing:

• Manage and prioritise planned, preventative, corrective and reactive maintenance through the CMMS.

• Coordinate work requests, schedules and available resources to ensure maintenance is delivered efficiently.

• Maintain accurate records and data to support reporting, performance monitoring and process improvement.

• Ensure health, safety, statutory and regulatory requirements are met, including task coordination, risk assessments and Permit to Work systems.

• Support maintenance and operations teams by managing contractors, providing technical feedback and helping optimise assets and processes.

What we’re looking for:

Essential

• Health and Safety awareness/qualifications preferably to IOSH Managing Safely standards.

• Confined space awareness/qualification

• Competence in the issuing and use of all company permit to work systems

• Risk assessment and method statement training.

Desirable

• Skills in running and maintaining Wastewater processes and assets or similar.

• Excellent knowledge of all areas, sites and processes within the contract scope.

• Practical knowledge of Google packages, experience of computerised maintenance management package(s).

• Experience in either Mechanical or Electrical engineering

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

• Good commercial awareness.
