AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on.

We are looking for a collaborative electrical maintenance professional for our Amazon Web Services Team. This engineering operations technician position serves as the on-site maintenance technician and operator for an AWS data centre.

The Data Centre Engineering Operations Technician (EOT) is responsible for operating and maintaining all electrical, mechanical, emergency generator, and fire/life safety equipment within the data centre. Key job responsibilities include:

  • Operating and maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Troubleshooting of facility and rack-level events within internal SLAs
  • Performing limited maintenance tasks
  • Providing support to Data Centre Operations technicians
  • Performing root cause analysis of equipment failures
  • Ensuring all safety procedures are adhered to while performing work

Requirements include:

  • Technical training (Military or trade school) or relevant experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products and web-based operational tools
  • Familiar with BMS and EPMS control systems and data collection/trending
  • Proficient with maintenance management software

Preferred qualifications include:

  • 4+ years of Data Centre Engineering Experience and Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline
  • Fundamental knowledge of network design and layout as well as low voltage (copper/ fibre) cabling
  • Valid driver's license and own vehicle
