Job summary

Anthropic is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Review Tooling team within the Safeguards group. You will own the tooling used by safety investigators and help scale review through automation, while coordinating with policy, operations, data science, and legal teams to ensure trustworthy, privacy-respecting enforcement systems.

Qualifications

• Experience managing software engineering teams.
• Technical background in full-stack or platform engineering.
• Experience shipping internal tools and improving workflows.
• Ability to engage with policy, operations and legal teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Interest in AI safety and responsible AI.

Responsibilities

• Lead, grow, and develop a team of engineers building investigation, review, and enforcement tooling.
• Define vision and roadmap for our review tooling platform, including analytics and privacy primitives.
• Drive scaling of review through automation and Claude-assisted workflows.
• Collaborate with policy, operations, legal, privacy, and data science teams.
• Ensure tooling evolves with privacy primitives and data retention commitments.
• Contribute to engineering-wide initiatives and maintain a high-performing team.
