Job summary

Anthropic is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Review Tooling team, building systems used by humans to investigate potential harms and enforce policies across platforms.

You will own the tooling, analytics, privacy primitives, and a sandbox for rapid iteration, ensuring alignment with data retention commitments and safety objectives. You’ll partner with policy, operations, data science, and legal to deliver trustworthy, scalable enforcement solutions.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience
• Required field of study relevant to the role
• Location-based hybrid policy; in-office presence is expected at least 25% of the time
• Visa sponsorship available; however, not guaranteed for every role

Responsibilities

• Lead, grow, and develop a team of engineers building investigation, review, and enforcement tooling for both first-party and third-party platform surfaces
• Define the vision and roadmap for the review tooling platform, including analytics and privacy-compatible data access primitives
• Drive the strategy for scaling review through automation and Claude-assisted workflows
• Collaborate with policy, operations, legal, privacy, and data science stakeholders to translate needs into reliable systems
• Ensure review tooling evolves with privacy primitives and data retention commitments
