Job summary

Anthropic is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Review Tooling team, building systems that help investigators understand harms and enforce actions across platforms. You will own the tooling platform, analytics, privacy-preserving primitives, and a sandbox for rapid iteration, partnering with policy, operations, data science, and legal to ensure effective enforcement.

Qualifications

• Experience managing software engineering teams with hiring, coaching, and developing engineers.
• Technical background in full-stack or platform engineering with architecture/design focus.
• Experience shipping internal tools or platforms used by demanding operators.
• Experience collaborating with non-engineering partners such as operations, policy, or legal.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to explain technical tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders.
• Interest in societal impacts of AI and safety of AI systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead, grow, and develop a team of engineers building investigation, review, and enforcement tooling for multiple platform surfaces.
• Define the vision and roadmap for the review tooling platform, including analytics and privacy-preserving data access primitives.
• Drive scaling of review through automation, enabling Claude-assisted workflows.
• Partner with policy, operations, legal, privacy, and data science stakeholders to translate needs into reliable systems.
• Ensure tooling evolves with privacy primitives and data retention commitments.
• Provide clarity in a fast-changing environment and maintain a high-performing team.
• Contribute to engineering-wide initiatives as part of the engineering management community.
