Job summary

Gleeson Homes in Leeds is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead multiple residential developments from land appraisal through to adoption. You will coordinate planning, design, procurement and delivery, ensuring projects meet programme, budget and quality targets.

You will manage multidisciplinary teams, drive technical governance, liaise with authorities and contractors, and provide strategic guidance to senior management throughout the development lifecycle.

Qualifications

• A relevant engineering or construction qualification or significant industry experience.
• Strong knowledge of residential development and housebuilding processes.
• Experience leading engineering or project teams in a development environment.
• Solid understanding of planning, infrastructure design and development procurement.

Responsibilities

• Assess and appraise development opportunities and support land decisions.
• Lead engineering input throughout planning and development.
• Coordinate external consultants to deliver designs on programme and budget.
• Drive technical information flow across departments to maintain schedule.
• Oversee utility appointments and infrastrcuture design approvals.
• Engage with authorities and regulators to secure approvals.
• Manage adoption of roads, sewers and related infrastructure.
• Support procurement by coordinating technical suppliers and contractors.
• Produce status reports and risk assessments for senior management.
• Drive programme management and critical path activities to milestones.
