Job summary

Thomas Gray is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead engineering across residential developments from cradle to handover. The role requires strong experience in housebuilding and civil engineering, with a focus on highways, drainage, SuDS and utility infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Proven engineering experience from residential development, volume housebuilding or civil engineering consultancy.
• Strong knowledge of highways, drainage, SuDS and utility infrastructure.
• Track record securing Section agreements (S38, S104, S278) and managing adoption cycles.

Responsibilities

• Manage engineering requirements across residential developments from land appraisal to handover.
• Coordinate external consultants and oversee detailed design for roads, drainage, utilities and site infrastructure.
• Secure statutory technical approvals and legal adoption agreements (S38, S104, S278).
• Provide engineering input into pre-acquisition planning, budgets and development programmes.
• Support on-site construction teams with complex engineering queries.
• Oversee site infrastructure adoption processes with authorities and water undertakers.
