Job summary

Altrad is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join the team in the UK. You will be responsible for the delivery, governance and performance of an engineering area, leading multi-disciplinary teams and ensuring alignment with standards, legislation and safety arrangements.

The role requires managing engineering scope from user need through design, verification and acceptance, with oversight of consultants, contractors and OEMs.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering or science discipline required.
• Chartered Engineer status or commitment to achieve.
• Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary delivery in high-hazard or regulated settings.

Responsibilities

• Own delivery plan and performance of the assigned engineering area.
• Coordinate engineering support across systems and projects, ensuring traceability.
• Provide governance and assurance per Engineering Management Plan.
• Oversee consultants, TSPs, contractors and OEM activities.
• Chair engineering meetings, design reviews and technical reviews.
• Direct Lead Project Engineers and discipline engineers.
• Assess workload, recruit and mentor engineering personnel.
• Deputise for Head of Engineering when required.
• Support safety committees and permissions processes.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, standards and safety requirements.
