Job summary

Morson Edge is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the engineering function at a major Wakefield manufacturing facility. You will oversee maintenance, reliability, projects and continuous improvement, aligning resources and processes to support operational performance while upholding safety, food quality and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Proven engineering leadership in FMCG, food manufacturing or fast-paced environments.
• Experience managing maintenance, reliability and asset management teams.
• Experience with CMMS systems such as SAP and managing engineering budgets.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the engineering team, building a high-performance culture focused on safety, reliability and continuous improvement.
• Develop and implement site engineering and maintenance strategies to maximise plant availability.
• Drive preventative maintenance programmes and asset management plans.
• Lead engineering improvement projects, equipment upgrades and capital investments.
• Manage engineering budgets, maintenance spend and capex programmes.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and food safety standards.
• Drive root cause analysis to reduce downtime and improve efficiency.
• Manage contractor performance and supplier relationships.
• Support succession planning and development of engineering staff.
• Be a key member of the site leadership team contributing to site strategy.
