Unknown company is recruiting a Software Engineering Manager to lead a team of around eight engineers and testers in a fast-paced technology business in the UK. The role is hands-off coding, but you will read and review code, contribute to technical decisions and provide guidance to the team.

Working closely with Product and Scrum teams, you will take responsibility for team performance, development and delivery, removing obstacles and supporting recruitment while driving architectural decisions

Qualifications

• Experience leading engineers in an Agile environment.
• Technical background across .NET, C#, React, Angular, JavaScript, TypeScript and Azure.
• Ability to read/review code and guide delivery without daily coding.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of engineers and testers (~8 people).
• Manage performance, provide feedback and support career progression.
• Review code and influence software design, architecture and maintainability.
• Improve code quality, testing practices and ways of working.
• Plan with Product to prioritize and deliver the roadmap.
• Remove obstacles and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced setting.
• Support recruitment and skill-building within the team.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools within the team.
