Job summary

Deliveroo PLC seeks an Engineering Manager to lead the Unified Privacy Platform across DoorDash, Wolt, and Deliveroo. You will oversee backend and platform engineers building privacy and consent infrastructure, including the Privacy Center, User Consent Platform, and data-rights tooling.

You will balance legal, user trust, security, reliability, and velocity while aligning with Product, Legal, Security, and Data Governance leaders to provide scalable, self-service privacy capabilities globally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of people management leading backend/platform teams.
• 8+ years of industry experience in a fast-paced, platform-focused environment.
• Proven experience designing large-scale distributed systems and APIs.
• Preference for privacy, consent, data governance, or regulatory systems knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a high-performing backend/platform engineering team with ownership and privacy-by-design mindset.
• Define and drive technical strategy across the Privacy Center, Unified Privacy Platform, and Privacy Operations and Intelligence.
• Build cross-brand User Consent Platform with consistent enforcement across products and jurisdictions.
• Deliver self-service experiences for consent, privacy rights, and DSAR processes.
• Translate evolving privacy regulations into scalable platform capabilities across global brands.
