Job summary

Deliveroo PLC in London is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a cross-brand team delivering shared client foundations, SDKs, and developer tooling across three brands. You’ll own the roadmap and drive adoption across product teams while keeping the platform healthy and scalable.

You will stay hands-on with coding and reviews, mentor engineers, and grow the team through hiring. This hybrid role requires 3 days in the office, with collaboration across time zones and a strong focus on AI-native

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience managing engineers, including a team with senior engineers.
• 5+ years in mobile or web engineering with architectural depth.
• Fluent in using AI tooling in day-to-day work.
• Led a platform, SDK, or shared service used by other teams.
• Ability to work across product, design, platform orgs, analytics and time zones.
• Maintain high engineering standards and calmly handle incidents and tradeoffs.

Responsibilities

• Own the platform roadmap - shared SDKs, client foundations, and developer tooling across three brands.
• Drive adoption of shared foundations by partnering with product teams and onboarding/supporting teams.
• Lead, coach, and grow experienced mobile and web engineers.
• Keep the operating model healthy with clear intake, criteria, and predictable delivery.
• Guide architectural and system design decisions for client foundations used across brands.
• Stay hands-on with coding and reviews alongside the team, and champion AI-native practices.
• Grow the team through hiring.
