James Lewis Recruitment is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager in London within the bus and transport sector. The role leads engineering teams to ensure safe, efficient and compliant fleet operation, driving performance and reliability across all PSV maintenance activities.

Expect to oversee budgeting, staff development and continuous process improvements while maintaining strong safety culture and compliance with DVSA standards.

Formación

• City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2/3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or an equivalent qualification.
• Full car driving licence.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle legislation and statutory maintenance requirements.
• Previous supervisory or managerial experience within the bus sector is essential.

Responsabilidades

• Lead, motivate and develop a team of engineering professionals.
• Ensure all PSVs are maintained in line with DVSA standards and statutory requirements.
• Maintain compliance with vehicle legislation, safety regulations and quality standards.
• Manage departmental budgets, costs and engineering performance.
• Minimise vehicle downtime and lost mileage through effective maintenance planning.
• Conduct staff training, performance reviews and development planning.
• Implement engineering processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage subcontracted engineering work and contractor performance.
• Promote a positive safety culture across the engineering team.
