Job summary

Arriva London is seeking an Assistant Engineering Manager to oversee a busy workshop, ensuring efficient maintenance, repair and servicing of vehicles to meet contractual and regulatory standards.

You will lead engineering teams, plan workloads, monitor safety, maintain quality records and report on performance and costs, while supporting budget targets and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Strong engineering background with heavy vehicle maintenance experience.
• Apprenticeship or vocational qualification in engineering.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety practices (IOSH).

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise workshop team to service, maintain and repair vehicles.
• Manage workload, allocate tasks, and ensure on-time delivery.
• Monitor health and safety compliance and depot security.
• Provide reports to Engineering Manager on performance and costs.
