Job summary

Carbolite Gero Ltd. in the Peak District seeks an Engineering Manager Bespoke Products to oversee customer-specific developments. You will define design scopes, manage projects end-to-end, and ensure on-time delivery of highly customised furnaces for global customers.

Lead a team of mechanical and electrical engineers, mentor project managers, and drive improvements in engineering processes while maintaining peak quality and reliability standards.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
• Demonstrable experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering functions.
• Proven project management capability delivering complex bespoke projects.
• Strong communication and relationship-building across production, sales, purchasing and management.
• Proficient in 3D CAD (Solid Edge) and PLM systems (Teamcenter).
• Knowledge of mechanisms, gearing and pneumatics; welding and fabrication basics.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of custom furnace projects, from concept to commissioning.
• Provide hands-on project management across concurrent builds, mitigate risks.
• Mentor and lead Mechanical and Electrical Engineers and Project Managers.
• Act as senior technical contact for global academia and industry customers.
• Drive innovation and engineering excellence aligned to customer needs.
• Ensure designs and products meet high quality and reliability standards.
• Improve engineering procedures and cross-functional collaboration.
