Engineering Manager - Aircraft Engine Support

Job summary

StandardAero in Gosport, UK seeks an experienced leader to build and sustain a high-performing Technical Support Engineering team, guiding engine repair and overhaul activities to meet customer requirements.

You will govern engineering processes, coordinate across departments, manage performance and drive continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with QMS, SMS and EMS in a cost-conscious shop environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in technical leadership within aviation/engine maintenance environments is desirable.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a competent Technical Support Engineering team.
• Governance and Control of all Engines BU Engineering Process and Procedures, ensuring regular updates are propagated effectively.
• Develops and implements policies, standards and procedures for the engineering and technical work performed in the department;
• Assigns, coordinates and reviews the technical work of the department;
• Coordinates and liaises with various departments to resolve difficult or continuing problems and ensures operational standards and goals are achieved;
• Leads and participates in solving problems and continuous improvement;
• Enables a team to prepare detailed work instructions for repair of gas turbine engines to meet maintenance data and customer requirements;
• Accountable for the control, measures and improvements of the Non-Conformance Investigation Process;
• Ensures interpretation and clarification of overhaul data; produces material review board data and BOM documentation;
• Ensures review of airworthiness directives and service bulletins to incorporate amendments;
• May participate directly in design, development and inspection of projects;
• Leads repair and improvement schemes with feasibility studies;
• Conducts analysis to ensure site shop operations are cost-effective amid changes;
• Exercises authority in hiring, training, performance appraisal and related HR tasks;
• Ensures Technical Library staff are competent on publications revisions;
• Ensures regular interval work instruction reviews;
• Carries out special projects;
• Participates in management teams and departmental strategic plans;
• Adherence to QMS, SMS, EMS and related manuals.
