Hadean is building the next generation of defence technology in the UK, with populAI as a core simulation engine for large‑scale training and live exercises. As Engineering Manager, you will lead a multidisciplinary team, balancing delivery with strong people leadership and close product partnership.

You will stay hands‑on when needed, drive hiring, and work with product, field engineering and senior stakeholders to align strategy with execution, while maintaining credibility through technical

Qualifications

• Led and line‑managed a software engineering team with a focus on delivery and people development.
• Engineering management is your craft and you partner with Product to shape priorities.
• Experience with behavioural or agent‑based simulation of people or crowds is preferred.
• Experience with systems languages (ideally C++) for performance‑sensitive applications.
• Ability to obtain UK Security Vetting status to at least SC level.

Responsabilités

• Own delivery end‑to‑end for populAI — turning product goals into plans the team can execute.
• Line‑manage a multidisciplinary team and grow the next set of technical leaders.
• Stay hands‑on and contribute to delivery when pressure demands it.
• Own hiring for the team and justify headcount needed for the roadmap.
• Partner with Product Manager to understand commercial context and argue for technical investment.
• Collaborate with technical lead and senior specialists on architecture decisions.
• Shape the environment and align with Product, Field Engineering and senior stakeholders.
