Job summary

Flo Health is seeking an Engineering Manager for the AI Platform to lead the core team powering Flo’s AI features, including chatbot, cycle predictions, and personalized insights. You will guide senior engineers, shape roadmaps, manage cross-pod coordination, and provide hands-on guidance (~20%).

You will drive architectural reviews, ensure safety and medical compliance, and engage with stakeholders across Product, Analytics, and Engineering while championing Flo’s AI vision in partnerships.

As the Engineering Manager for the AI Platform you will lead the core team that builds the shared infrastructure powering every AI feature at Flo—from our chatbot and cycle predictions to personalized health insights.

The Role

You will manage a team of senior engineers using a distributed leadership model, translate product and company goals into clear team roadmaps, coordinate cross-pod dependencies, and provide hands‑on technical guidance (~20% of your time). Your responsibilities also include architectural reviews, ensuring safety, medical compliance, and performance standards, and serving as the primary point of contact for stakeholders across Product, Analytics, and Engineering while representing Flo’s AI vision to industry partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead & Empower: Manage a team of senior engineers, support their technical execution, performance, and career growth.
• Own the Roadmap: Translate product and company goals into clear team roadmaps, balancing structured delivery with reactive, business‑driven work.
• Drive Delivery: Coordinate cross‑pod dependencies, resolve blockers, and track roadmap milestones.
• Technical Stewardship: Participate in architectural reviews and provide hands‑on technical guidance (~20% of your time), maintaining high standards for safety, medical compliance, and performance.
• Cross‑Functional Impact: Act as the primary contact for stakeholders across Product, Analytics, and Engineering and represent Flo’s AI vision to industry partners.

Qualifications

• Engineering Leadership: Proven track record managing engineering teams in fast-moving product environments. Build high‑performing teams, mentor talent, and hire effectively.
• AI/ML Infrastructure Depth: Direct, hands‑on experience leading or building ML systems in production. Understand MLOps, model serving, or AI platform engineering.
• Manager‑as‑Leader Mindset: You are not looking to spend your day coding, but you have the technical depth to participate in architecture discussions and credibly guide technical trade‑offs.
• Agile & Stakeholder Savvy: Comfortable operating where priorities shift. Protect roadmap momentum while absorbing urgent requests.
• Collaborative Spirit: Thrive in cross‑functional setups and manage diverse teams in an agile environment.
