Job summary

Demob Job Ltd is seeking an Engineering Manager in Milton Keynes to lead a skilled workshop team and shape engineering activities across projects. The role combines hands-on leadership with strategic planning to deliver on time, within budget and to high quality standards.

The successful candidate will coach engineers, manage workloads, drive process improvements and ensure safety compliance in a dynamic engineering environment. Monday–Friday, with benefits and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Hold a relevant engineering qualification with proven experience of managing engineering teams.
• Hands-on engineering experience and an appreciation/understanding of mechanical engineering.
• Experience planning engineering activities and managing projects.
• Able to coach, mentor and develop engineering teams.
• Proactive, hands-on leadership with ability to lead by example.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of workshop engineers.
• Manage day-to-day workshop activities, workloads and engineering priorities.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership, supporting the team with engineering challenges and problem solving.
• Plan and oversee engineering projects, ensuring delivery to schedule, budget and quality standards.
• Continuously improve workshop processes, procedures and ways of working.
• Manage workshop resources, tooling, equipment and budgets.
• Work closely with design, test and engineering teams to ensure projects are delivered successfully.
• Ensure all workshop activities are carried out safely and in accordance with health and safety requirements.

Our client, an innovative engineering business based in Milton Keynes is looking to recruit an Engineering Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing organisation developing cutting edge engineering technology for demanding industrial applications.

This is a hands on leadership role where you will lead from the front, managing a highly skilled engineering team whilst remaining actively involved in the day to day engineering operation. You'll play a key role in shaping workshop activities, improving engineering processes and supporting the continued growth of the business.

Applications are particularly encouraged from ex-military engineers with leadership experience gained within the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME), Royal Navy or Royal Air Force, although all candidates with the relevant engineering management experience will be considered.

Engineering Manager Responsibilities:

Engineering Manager Benefits:

• Salary is £60,000 per annum.
• Monday to Friday 9am – 6pm with 1 hour for lunch.
• Travel expenses to and from work are reimbursed.
