Job summary

Page Personnel on behalf of a leading recycling and resource recovery business in Scotland seeks an Engineering Manager to lead the engineering and maintenance function at the Glasgow/Paisley site, ensuring safe and efficient operation of plant and equipment.

You will manage a multi-skilled engineering team, drive maintenance excellence, and deliver performance improvements while maintaining health and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in an Engineering Manager, Maintenance Manager or senior leadership role.
• Background within manufacturing, recycling, waste processing, heavy industry or a similar operational environment.
• Experience managing multi-disciplined engineering teams.
• Strong understanding of preventative and predictive maintenance principles.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• IOSH or NEBOSH qualification.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of mechanical and electrical engineers.
• Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance strategies.
• Ensure breakdowns are managed effectively to minimise downtime.
• Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety legislation and company procedures.
• Identify and deliver engineering improvement projects.
• Manage engineering budgets and control maintenance expenditure.

Job Description

As Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading and developing a multi-skilled engineering team, driving maintenance excellence and ensuring maximum plant availability across the site. You will play a key role in delivering operational performance, continuous improvement initiatives and engineering projects while maintaining the highest standards of health, safety and environmental compliance. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong people management skills, technical expertise and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced manufacturing and processing environment.
