Job summary

Engineering & NPD Manager – Scientific Instrumentation – Hampshire, permanent onsite role. Salary circa £60k plus 10% bonus. The position leads NPD across electronics, firmware, software and mechanics and manages a small team to deliver projects to spec.

Engineering & NPD Manager – Scientific Instrumentation – Hampshire

Salary / benefits: c£60k, plus 10% bonus and benefits.

Job Term: Permanent, Full Time, Onsite.

A market leader in the development of scientific instruments is now looking for a new Engineering & NPD Manager. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role within this growing organisation and to make a significant contribution to the business.

Responsibilities

• Manage and deliver NPD projects on time, in-full, and to specification across electronics, firmware, software and mechanics, establishing specifications and functional descriptions covering mechanical, electronic and software requirements.
• Lead a small team of engineers, technicians and/or apprentices, building and executing project plans including budget, timeline and resource allocation (internal and external). Create and maintain project documentation to a high standard, including meeting and achieving certification to relevant product standards (e.g. EN61010).
• Assist with transferring new products to the production team.
• Contribute to the detailed definition of the Company NPD roadmap and product specifications.
• Support the existing product range by providing service and test, fault finding, identifying solutions for faults and obsolescence.
• Support customers, distributors and engineering with technical and service matters.

Experience

• At least five years’ experience in an engineering development environment with specific experience in scientific equipment, instrumentation, special purpose machinery, motion control or robotic systems.
• A proven track record in project delivery, achieving project deadlines and performance objectives.
