Job summary

Referment is seeking an experienced Engineering leader in Greater London to own and shape engineering performance while transitioning from hands-on execution to enablement and people leadership. You will work closely with the founders and Product to align technical choices with customer outcomes, while growing a high-performing team and establishing scalable processes.

Qualifications

Proven record leading and scaling an engineering team.
Hands-on contributor on production systems at scale.
Ability to set culture of ownership, delivery and engineering craft.
Strong product judgement to connect work to customer value.

Responsibilities

Own engineering performance across delivery speed, code quality, reliability and the product experience.
Grow the engineering team end-to-end, from process design and interviewing through to closing candidates.
Coach engineers, develop emerging leaders and create team structures that support ownership and progression.
Contribute directly to architecture, complex features and the most demanding technical problems.
Improve CI/CD, testing, developer tooling and infrastructure so the whole team can deliver more effectively.
Work closely with founders and Product to shape the roadmap and connect technical choices to customer and business outcomes.
