Job summary

Contechs Consulting seeks an Engineering Lead for a Cocoa Bean Process Plant in Chirk, Wales. You will oversee all engineering operations, drive lean transformation, and move maintenance from reactive to preventative/predictive regimes using SAP CMMS.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team, ensure safety, and align engineering priorities with production goals. This contract role focuses on reliability, efficiency, and continuous improvement across the plant.

Qualifications

• Experience in engineering or maintenance leadership within a manufacturing or process plant.
• Food industry experience advantageous but not essential.
• Proven track record implementing lean techniques (TPM, 5S, Kaizen, VSM).
• Experience transitioning maintenance from reactive to preventive/predictive models.
• Strong knowledge of CMMS platforms (ideally SAP).
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams in a 24/7 operation.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop engineers, technicians and maintenance staff across disciplines.
• Champion lean manufacturing tools to reduce downtime, waste and costs.
• Drive a strategic move from reactive to preventative/predictive maintenance using SAP CMMS.
• Own asset management strategy and lead RCA, CAPEX projects and improvements.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards and audits.
