Job summary

Sumitomo Electric is seeking an Engineering Lead for Cocoa Bean Process Plant in Chirk, Wales. This contract role focuses on leading engineering operations, driving lean practices, and transforming maintenance to preventive/predictive strategies.

You will oversee a multidisciplinary team, implement SAP-based CMMS, and drive reliability, safety, and continuous improvement across the plant.

Qualifications

• Experience leading engineering/maintenance teams in manufacturing.
• Strong lean manufacturing experience (5S, Kaizen, VSM, TPM).
• Experience transitioning from reactive to preventative/predictive maintenance.
• Knowledge of CMMS systems (prefer SAP).

Responsibilities

• Lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers, technicians, and maintenance professionals across mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines.
• Champion the adoption of lean manufacturing principles across engineering and maintenance activities.
