Job summary

Currys plc is seeking a technically experienced Engineering Lead to own engineering quality, standards and delivery across a multi-partner landscape. This hands-on leadership role combines senior stakeholder communication with practical code reviews and governance.

The role spans the full stack from .Net middleware and Azure infrastructure to frontend and downstream connectivity, emphasizing resilience, observability and production-grade design. Hybrid working in Waterloo preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of senior engineering experience, with leadership responsibilities in multi-team environments.
• Hands-on with .Net and Azure; full-stack capability is strongly preferred.
• Proven track record designing, building and governing integration services and APIs.
• Experience delivering production-grade, resilient, scalable systems.
• Engineering leadership across SDLC, CI/CD, and release governance.
• Experience managing external delivery partners and building internal capability.

Responsibilities

• Own and enforce engineering standards across delivery partners and internal teams.
• Lead code reviews and provide actionable feedback.
• Define engineering principles for Integration Services and ensure consistent application.
• Provide technical assurance across integration design and implementation.
• Review and challenge approaches across .Net, Azure, and connected systems.
• Drive CI/CD maturity, pipeline standards and environment management.
• Conduct audits of partner outputs and enforce improvement plans.
• Build and mentor an in-house engineering team to reduce dependency on partners.
• Translate technical needs for programme and senior stakeholders; enable MVP delivery.
