Job summary

RWE Generation UK offers a FlexGen Graduate scheme combining training and hands-on engineering experience. You will rotate through biomass, gas, hydro or hydrogen assets, including outages, safety and commercial rotations, while a buddy and mentor support your development.

You’ll travel as needed with accommodation and costs covered, and participate in technical and non-technical trainings with the international graduate cohort to prepare for a future engineering role with RWE.

Qualifications

• A 2:1 bachelor's degree in engineering or similar discipline.
• A willingness to travel and work across sites domestically and internationally.
• Interest in Power Generation and engineering.

Responsibilities

• Rotate through a power asset on shift and during outages, with safety exposure.
• Include a short rotation in the safety department and a commercial rotation with our Supply and Trading business.

Job description

The RWE FlexGen Graduate scheme provides the perfect blend of training and competency development; including the technical, practical and business skills needed to be an engineer for today and tomorrow! During the scheme you will shape your career through delivering on key engineering projects at our Biomass, Gas, Hydro or Hydrogen assets. You will be required to undertake the following rotations / placements:

• A shift on a power generating asset.
• During an outage at a power station.
• A short rotation in the safety department.
• A rotation with a commercial focus, in our RWE Supply and Trading business or something similar.

Your other rotations can be chosen by yourself, with the support of your buddy - a former or existing RWE Graduate, and your Mentor - a Senior Leader in the business. You will have the freedom and support to build your programme in a way that maximises your development and knowledge. You will have a base location, which will be where you start your programme. However, your rotations could be anywhere domestically or Internationally in the RWE Generation Portfolio. A willingness to travel and expose yourself to new opportunities is therefore essential. Whilst you are travelling away from your base location, we will financially support you with accommodation and other costs, as well as providing pastoral support. As well as on-the-job training, you will undertake a series of technical and non-technical trainings with the rest of your International Graduate cohort. This combination of academic learning, practical skill development and non-technical training will prepare you for a future role as an Engineer with us!

Advantageous, but not essential

• A 2:1 bachelor's degree in engineering or similar discipline.
• A learning mindset and an openness to try new experiences.
• A willingness to travel, both during your programme and after.
• A passion for Engineering and an interest in Power Generation.
• Some Engineering work experience is preferred, ideally in a Year in Industry position.
