An established consultancy is seeking a motivated Senior Engineering Geologist to join their expanding team in Leeds. My client is a well-established consultancy offering great opportunities for career progression. They are currently seeking a Senior Engineering Geologist to support their expanding team and workload. The ideal candidate will be motivated and enthusiastic, capable of managing and working on various geotechnical engineering projects.
These projects mainly cover the north of England, centered on Leeds, with occasional sites across the UK. The role involves collaboration with a team of Geo-environmental and Engineering Geologists, producing Geo-environmental Desk Studies, Site Investigation Reports, Coal Mining Risk Reports, tenders, specifications for grouting of mine workings and earthworks, and responding to regulator conditions and queries.
The position is primarily office-based, with occasional site visits for meetings with clients, supervising site work such as grout treatment or earthworks, and field activities like logging boreholes and trial pits, depending on workload demands.
The successful candidate will also assist the Department Head with daily management, supervise junior staff, and contribute to their development. Suitable candidates will have:
Additional skills include Ground Investigation Techniques, supervision of fieldwork, sampling and logging of soil and rock, scheduling laboratory testing, preparing interpretative reports, earthworks specifications, and remediation strategies, as well as consultations with regulators.
Desirable but not essential skills include Slope Stability Assessment, CLEA Risk Assessment, and Groundwater DQRA.
