Job summary

The Trafford & Stockport College Group is seeking an experienced lecturer to join the Engineering Apprenticeship. You will deliver practical, work-based training and classroom theory to apprentices specializing in machining and mechanical engineering.

You will develop curriculum, implement teaching strategies, and inspire learners to achieve their qualifications and future careers. A hands-on, collaborative approach and current industry knowledge are essential commitments.

Qualifications

• Experienced lecturer or educator in engineering disciplines.
• Strong background in machining and manufacturing with exposure to mechanical engineering.
• Capability to deliver hands-on workshop training and classroom teaching.

Responsibilities

The Trafford and Stockport College Group (TSCG) have an opportunity for an experienced lecturer to join the Engineering Apprenticeship to help us achieve our vision of unlocking potential for successful futures.

The Role:

• Working as part of our highly experienced Engineering department, your role will be to deliver both practical work-based training and classroom-based theoretical teaching to apprentices who specialize in machining and mechanical engineering.
• This role will require you to deliver high quality, learner-focused education providing quality learning experience for our students. You will be required to develop the curriculum and implement teaching and learning strategies that enable our students to succeed and thrive in their chosen subject area.
• You will be an experienced engineering professional with a strong background in machining and manufacturing, ideally with exposure to mechanical engineering. Passionate about developing the next generation of engineers, you will be confident delivering both hands‑on workshop training and classroom‑based teaching. You will bring current industry knowledge, a commitment to high standards, and the ability to engage and motivate apprentices of varying abilities. Whether you already hold a teaching qualification or are keen to work towards one, you will be dedicated to delivering high‑quality learning experiences that support learners to succeed in their qualifications and careers.
• You will need to be conversant and comfortable in the use of computer systems with particular focus on Microsoft software systems and applications.
• You will be a strong team player who can communicate well with others, demonstrate respect for and be supportive towards your peers, and be comfortable in a very exciting and busy working environment. You will have a strong, resilient character with a âcan-doâ approach to challenges.
